Such a sun filled shoot!!
Always playing…. this image was shot in the middle of the day… full sun. It was a rare moment when I took studio lighting outside. We were shooting at the studio so it was pretty easy. By shutting everything down and letting VERY LITTLE light into the camera, the image is very dark, but the flash lit up Sarah’s face and hair. Made for a dramatic shot!!
“She is of the strangest beauty and the darkest courage, and when she walks with intent the earth trembles beneath her feet.”
― Nicole Lyons,
Clients think so much about the location for their shoot and YES… location can bring A LOT…. but sometimes it’s just the simplicity of the studio combined with movement and emotion that creates the magic. Kimberli McKee in a simple tulle skirt… lovely.
When sharing images on social media, one of my most difficult decisions is whether or not to post in color or b/w. Sometimes it’s an obvious choice, but other times each image conveys a different mood or feel. The image below of Jerry Raines I love in both edits.
I am very much drawn to monochromatic pastel images. This image of Skye Nowlin is a perfect example. Beautiful… soft… romantic!!
