Tracy Hopkins/Photographer

Natural, beautiful, and classic… this is my goal for each and every client. Natural makeup and earthy settings combine into feminine romantic portraits while texture and simplicity create masculine classic images.

I shoot digital, but love to edit in the style of film photography. Natural, gritty and editorial.

Shabby Jack Photography specializes in adult portraiture (seniors, fashion, boudoir, bridal, engagement and head shots).  I do not photograph groups, children or families.  The business is small and intimate and I take a very limited number of sessions each month (currently 2) which allows me to focus on my family and provide each client with the absolute best services and images possible.

From the consultation, the location, the shooting, the skin retouching, the post processing and the presentation; The name says “Shabby” but the experience is nothing of the sort.

My Background:

My career started as a photographic artist/retoucher for other photographers.  I have had the opportunity to work for numerous photographers including New York celebrity photographer Heather Swanson (The Doll Collection), Gaga Baby Photos photographers and the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep organization.

My work has recently graced the cover of Lemonade & Lenses, placed Top 10 three times in the I Heart Faces competitions, and an image was selected in the International Photographic Competition for publication in the 2014 “Showcase” book by Marathon Press.  See More: Shabby Jack Photography “in the press”.

So… Who is Jack??

My photography journey began with my kids (triplets plus one), so I wanted them to be a part of my business and my business name. Behold J-A-C-K… Jadon, Addison, Cody and Kaylee.

Now, {Shabby} is defined in the urban dictionary as being ‘slightly worn from being over-loved’, so Shabby Jack seemed perfect given I tend to over love my kids and photography. But also, when I think of shabby I think comfortable and homey, like a favorite worn blanket or an old pair of blue jeans. I also think chic.. boutique.. tasteful. I want clients to feel at home and comfortable and walk away with nothing less than a first class experience.

For me, photography is just a passion and activity I love and your new faces are what keep it exciting and fresh.
